WEAVE MAINTENANCE AFRICAN-AMERICAN Wendy's hair salon is an absolute gem! Her dedication to hair care is unmatched. She pampered my weave with sulfate-free shampoo and washed my hair three times, maintaining its health and longevity. The deep conditioning left my hair looking vibrant and lustrous. Wendy's attention to detail is evident in the two-hour session under the dryer to guarantee dryness and prevent any mold issues. All this came at an incredibly affordable rate (the same rate as my hairstylist in Atlanta). Wendy's salon is a haven for those seeking top-notch care and style without breaking the bank. I can't recommend it enough!
I've been going to Wendy for my hair, skincare and waxing needs for more than 20 years. I've follow her across 5+ salon locations and currently drive 45 minutes each way from Castaic to see her in Glendale. That should say a lot... She has colored and cut my hair in a variety of colors and styles over the years, as well as done updo/formal hair styling for special events, keratin smoothing treatments and more. She even did my hair and makeup for my first wedding, coming out to the event site to get me ready for the big day. I've done eyebrow, lip and body waxing with her, as well as a variety of facials for anti aging or special skin issues. Now she cuts my kids' hair from time to time and knows how to work well with children too. All in all she is a multi-talented beauty professional who has creative ideas and loves what she does. I highly recommend her.
I hesitate to post this. Why? I don't want so many people coming to see Wendy that I won't be able to get an appointment! I have fine hair, and I'm super fortunate that it grows long, but if it gets too long, I look like a crazy old woman who lives in the woods outside Salem. So a layered cut is a must for my hair and (ahem) my age. (*sigh* I miss the '90's when I could wear it super long.) I've been coming to Wendy for years and she does a great layered cut. Her shop is peaceful and cozy, and full of her interesting projects. And plants. Wendy is a secret find, as are the coffee shop and consignment store next door, and I want to keep it secret! I love the neighborhood, free and easy parking, and I always have a nice afternoon getting my haircut and a coffee. Keep Glassell Park awesome!
