I teach out of Hollywood Dance Center and I have to say it is one of the last standing original Dance Studios in Los Angeles. It's a great old school dance studio vibe and just feels like home. I'm proud to call it my home base and Pam is so amazing. Anyone who might give this place a bad review is coming for the wrong reasons anyway. Or they might not understand it's a rental space and each teacher runs their own business from the space!
Danella Dutton’s Salsa On-1 Beginning Class is everything wonderful I’d expect from superior dance instruction, practice & mastery. I take the Monday night classes, where classmates are warm, dance moves explicitly explained, practiced, & eventually mastered. Fellow guys & gals with more experience, pls excuse my 2 left feet. I’ve progressed favorably in 10 months. I can now demonstrate knowledge of, if not mastery in, at least 12 cool movidas. I hope 2 learn a dozen more in this welcoming, inclusive community.
I've been taking ballet classes as an adult beginner with Elspeth Kuang and she is a wonderful instructor. Patient but pushes you to learn, and makes sure to correct students along the way (which is a rarity for adult classes). I would give her ten stars if I could. I've seen my technique improve after each class.Haven't explored the facility much otherwise, but street parking is free after 7pm. If you are looking for evening classes to stay in shape, this is the spot.Note that you will book with/pay the instructor and not the facility, so check their website and get in touch with your teacher before coming to the first class!
