About Downtown Mental Health Center
Downtown Mental Health Center is a welcoming place that provides helpful mental health services and support. Many clients have positive experiences with the staff and therapists, praising their kindness, care, and resourcefulness. Clients often mention their therapists by name, noting how they helped resolve problems, calm anxieties, and provide useful advice. One client shared that the center helped them get more than they expected, expressing gratitude for the doctors and staff who made a difference in their life. The staff is generally described as caring, knowledgeable, and attentive to clients' needs. However, some reviews mention difficulties in reaching therapists after initial treatment, which can be frustrating. For example, one client lost contact with their therapist and was unable to leave a message, leading to feelings of frustration. Despite this, the overall impression remains positive, highlighting the center's effectiveness and the genuine effort of most staff members. Clients also appreciate the supportive environment, noting that staff make them feel at home. One individual shared a personal story of overcoming life challenges and gratitude for the center’s role in saving their life. While most staff are praised, there is a mention of a receptionist who was perceived as negative, but this does not overshadow the overall quality of care. Overall, Downtown Mental Health Center is seen as a place where individuals find help, hope, and understanding in their mental health journeys.
Very good place for talk therapy, case management, housing, and yoga. This is the way Los Angeles will get Los Angeles out of chronic homelessness & outrageous street dumping. It's not only the professionals at work inside the clinic but the outside people who throw away trash outside by having huge garbage tins on the sidewalk, or maybe it's because it's across the street from the L.A.P.D. police station. Whatever it is, this place should get a medal of healthcare honor, for homeless & outside safe care. Thank you Gabriel for outstanding mental health services.
Good afternoon. My name is Mario Franco.
The place here is amazing. Good service. First months went well. Got treatment.
I have about 2 months not talking to my therapist. After that my life went downhill. What I mean by “downhill” is that I lost my job recently. Tried getting in contact with my therapist but no way to contact her. Talked to the receptionist (good people) but when they pass the call to her phone, it clicks. So I can’t even leave a voicemail or nothing. Really frustrating. But I blame myself for not keeping up with my therapist. I wouldn’t pick up at times so we would lose contact.
DMH downtown is the best place to go if you need help. I go here and they not only help me, i got more than i came here for. To Dr. Hoffman thank you so much. Im blessed to have you as my doctor. If not for you i wouldn't got what i have today. For that am so grateful. To Evelyn, i appreciate you for all the help and to Ms. Stacy, thank you as well and to everybody who works here, i thank you for the services. You all do a great job.
