They charged me for an appointment I did not have. When I called them to fix it, they kept me on hold for over 30 minutes to speak with a representative. No one ever picked up the phone. They basically fleece their customers.

I had my first experience in a salon in Lynnfield MA. Appointment was at 5:30 - the team literally cleaned around me - vacuuming, mopping etc while I was waiting for the color to set. While I can look past that - the whole thing felt rushed and this morning I put on a white sweater only to have it and my couch pillow ruined by hair color staining / transfer. I’ve never had this happen with any other products in my life and I don’t know if it’s poor product or a rush job shampooing it out. Customer service offered me a $50 credit however I’ll never be using Madison Reed or their products again

Walked in for 10am appointment at the Long Beach salon and it smelled very unpleasant— a combination of sage and skunk is the best way I can describe it. I was not greeted when I entered, and I could hear two colorists in the back room. I asked another woman waiting for service if the smell bothered her. She said yes it was awful. When the colorist approached me I asked her what that smell was and her answer was they burned incense. I asked if she could air the place out because it was very strong. On a personal note,I don’t think corporate would have approved of that. I did appreciate her explaining the color choices and her opinion. As a member, I hope this doesn’t happen again or I may just cancel my membership. I found it very unprofessional and lowering the bar for this location. Madison Reed sent me an email asking me to give a review Of this location, but it not provide an opportunity for me to write these details, so I’m writing it here.

Maaaaan, screw this place. I drove all the way over here in a bunch of traffic. Called to tell them I was running 15 minutes late. But you can’t talk to a human, only a robot. Told the robot I was running a few minutes late. Robot said ‘OK, no problem.’ After I drove half an hour to get here, they said they can’t do it. This is why I tried to call! I hate a place that doesn’t actually provide service. If you can’t do it, let me know before I drive a half an hour to get here just so you could tell me that you can’t. The stylist came off as inexperienced too, saying it would take time to do a consult. A consult? I wanted basic roots. Terrible customer service. I will never be back. Don’t bother. Stick with your normal stylist who is actually knowledgeable and has a human touch. I know I will.

I had a wonderful experience with a stylist and I am horrified to say that her name has escaped my memory but she’s a single mother of three kids and she works Saturdays. Hopefully you can figure out who she is but she made my experience wonderful and I’d like her to get credit for it. She did a fantastic blow dry, had great customer service skills and was just a light in this old lady’s day.
