Long Beach Animal Emergency

(This happened a few months ago, this has been sitting in my drafts) This is my second emergency coming here. And I have to agree with it REALLY varies on WHO the staff is on hand with what approach is taken. My cat has lower urinary tract disease and had a blockage, so we rushed here at 2am. I first want to say that I understand that this is an ER and ER's are typically more expensive than your ordinary clinic. However, they definitelyyyyyyyy want to.... make their $ here. There are sooooo many discrepancies. Last time, they kept him for about half a day for observation after giving him fluids and relaxants, for around $800. Our dog of eight years seemed to have had a seizure and we rushed her to the hospital and after the exam the Vet spoke with us and we felt that was a decision to be made Cali was brought in for final time with her and the Vet stayed with us to monitor her and he gave his condolences as her heart stopped beating. He then gave us alone time to say our goodbyes. We appreciate the mannerism of all the staff and most definitely the Vet.

We've had to take our two dogs here a couple times and they have been wonderful. So thankful they are open 24/7 because anything can happen at any time. Our recent visit was on July 4th when our dog seemed like she was choking on something. We tried giving her the Heimlich maneuver and digging out whatever was lodged in her throat, but nothing was there. When she collapsed and couldn't walk, we knew we had to rush her here. The vet saw her right away and based on her symptoms, they concluded that she was having a bad allergic reaction. She most likely swallowed a bee in the backyard.
