In the recent past I used Dave and his crew to replace the main water line from the city meter to my home. The original Copper pipe from the mid 70's was corroding and within a short period had sprung several leaks. Being this pipe is underground, it may be a while untill you physically see the water break through the dirt. However it will be noticeable that your water bill has increased significantly. My last leak happened during 3 or 4 days of rain and I didn't notice it until the rain stopped. Yes, very costly. I was convinced, time to call a plumber.
