Well, that's the first vet visit I've had while sitting on the floor, but it worked well. Probably less scary for the animal, and less risk of her getting hurt if she got away.
I brought a leopard gecko to see Dr. Steffes. Just a wellness exam, but as someone who has never had a reptile before, I had a lot of questions. Dr. Steffes spent a good amount of time with us and answered every one. He was also very reassuring about her being in good health. I will definitely come back!
Brought my holland lop for a check up/ consultation about possible end of life care. She has a terminal condition and is elderly and at an emergency vet in Berkeley she was diagnosed with liver lobe torsion; they basically wrote her condition out as she could die any day now. Dr. Zach was amazing and really gave me a different perspective on the whole ordeal. He said she looked great and explained that her condition could have existed much longer and was minor so it went under the radar until she had GI stasis from stress of moving houses[which is how we got to the liver diagnosis]. My son has a 26 year old corn snake, and has lived an incredible life's journey. I met Dr. Zach about a year ago (2025) to get an overall quality of life assessment for Snakey. From calling the office to the appointment, we felt like family. I recently took Snakey in for another assessment, and again, enjoyed an amazing experience.
