I appreciated the ability to get in quickly. However, the office insisted on taking their own X-rays in house because they couldn't trust other imaging providers, but after looking at their own set of images, the doctor confidently declared a sprain based on what turned out to be very little examination and sent us away. Swelling and pain level wasn't going down, so a third set of X-rays and a thorough exam involving a tuning fork at a second opinion revealed a stress fracture and potential ligament damage which requires an MRI. I don't like exposing my kid to unnecessary radiation. The appointment felt like I paid for arrogance instead of expertise. Much better experience at the provider in San Francisco.
I am 61 and snapped my Achilles in two playing pickleball. Dr. Goltz was my surgeon (he has successfully repaired both kids' ACL and my wife's ankle). Six weeks after my surgery, I am walking without a boot, crutches, etc. I recently ran into two gentlemen 20 years younger than me who blew up their Achilles at about the same time as I did...both 8-9 weeks in casts and plastic boots...no walking yet. Since I just started PT, I can only give credit to the good doctor's surgical skills. Highly recommend. Other family members had similar experiences.
I visited this practice with knee pain that affects my ability to work and to my conduct my regular daily activities. The doctor I saw apologized for an admittedly "rushed" (his words) visit and said that I needed to get an MRI at the practice's own MRI facility, which I suspect is a lucrative cash cow for this business. When the tech was unable to perform the procedure, I was told I would need to get the MRI at a public facility and California Orthopedics would arrange it. There were complications arranging the procedure, partially due to a delay on my part, but the clinic dropped the ball TWICE and left me hanging. I'll seek care somewhere else. Totally under-whelmed.
