About LaVerne Cemetery

LaVerne Cemetery - An Abbey Rose Memorial Property is a well-maintained and historic cemetery that offers a peaceful resting place for individuals of all backgrounds. The cemetery boasts a beautiful view of the mountains and is home to various wildlife, creating a serene atmosphere for visitors. The cemetery has a rich history, with markers dating back to the pioneer days and founding Lordsburg patriarchs. However, the cemetery has faced some challenges in the past, with previous owners allowing the property to fall into disrepair. The current owners, Abbey Rose Memorial Parks, have taken steps to restore the cemetery to its former glory, upgrading the irrigation system, maintaining the grass, and addressing issues such as overgrown and dead trees, and unstable headstones. While the cemetery has sections dedicated to Muslim burials, which some visitors find "militaristic" and obtrusive, the current management has been praised for their understanding and accommodating nature. The representatives, particularly Diego, have been described as helpful, kind, and proactive in addressing any concerns or requests from visitors. Overall, LaVerne Cemetery is a well-maintained and historic resting place that offers a peaceful and serene environment for those who have chosen it as their final resting place. The cemetery's commitment to restoring its former glory and providing excellent customer service has been widely appreciated by the community.

Great experience working with the whole team. Never in a million years would I have expected this process to go as smoothly as it did, especially having to bury two family members within the same week. Thank you to Chris and the entire staff at La Verne cemetery from my entire family and community.

My mother and father are buried here and wouldn’t want them anywhere else. There is a beautiful view of the mountains from their grave, lovely birds and wildlife visit the cemetery often. I can stay here and contemplate life pretty peacefully. The Muslim graves don’t bother me at all. Everyone speaks the same once they are dead. “Oh how we wish to be living again!”

We like to walk through old cemeteries to see the headstones with their beautiful workmanship and plus find famous dead people. This cemetery seems to be well maintained and not abandoned like some older cemeteries we've been to in the past. Find-a-Grave website has also brought us to these lonely places to look for loved ones.
