Dr. K is very nice; however, the practice is EXTREMELY outdated which can be very inconvenient. They do not have a working email, so they can only fax information out (I don't believe that many, if any, people have fax machines at home, so the only options are to either have information faxed to an external fax machine or to pick up in person. This is obviously difficult when you work 9-5, so you'd have to take off work in order to pick up lab results, for example). They also only take cash or check. There is also no patient portal, no appointment confirmation text/email, no after hours triage nurse, no way to see your labs, no way to message your doctor. I had an incident...read full review

I tried to get an appointment and establish a primary care physician for myself and my family with Julie M. Kuniyoshi, MD, at 4870 Barranca Pkwy Ste 250 Irvine, CA 92604, who is accepting new patients with PPO. And I have United Healthcare PPO and was denied being admitted as a new patient since I am not Fully Vaccinated. I told the appointment desk that I was not fully vaccinated, and she sorry but not accepting you, and hung up. In 2023, can you be denied being accepted as a new patient if you are not fully vaccinated for Covid here in California now? Is that legal now in 2023 in California?

I've been seeing Dr. Kuniyoshi since 2010-ish. Here staff is super-friendly and efficient. I am constantly bummed that they only accept cash or check and have zero internet functions available that seem to be the norm in today's medical community (test results, appointment management, payments, etc.) I have found Dr. Kuniyoshi VERY caring and knowledgeable. She takes her time with my family, patiently listening and answering every question we might have. Appointment times: I have never waited more than five minutes in the waiting room nor have I ever seen the waiting room crowded. Her rooms are always spotless and she takes every precaution especially during this Covid era. I am very happy with the care that I receive from Dr. Kuniyoshi and her staff. I REALLY WISH they would accept electronic payments; it would make life SO MUCH EASIER but other than that, I only have the highest regard for Dr. Kuniyoshi and highly recommend her.
