Prenuvo full body scans 6 years ago provided me with an baseline that continuously rendered understanding as to how my body was changing and not changing.
I just had my full body scan done in the Philadelphia office. The entire experience exceeded my expectations. The pre-work was easy and they make it easily accessible through their app! The prep the day of the scan was simple, my scan was at 3:15pm, they say to fast 4 hours before, but I decide to fast all day up to my scan, personal choice, most likely doesn’t make a difference. I arrive 30 minutes early, ample parking at the location. The lobby and interior are tastefully decorated and extremely clean. The patient liaisons Karla and Christina were friendly and welcoming. I checked in, quick and easy. I was asked what I would like to watch while on the MRI, I opted for Netflix and the Diddy documentary!😳. I was escorted back to the changing rooms, nicely appointed and roomy, I changed into my scrubs, shirt and pants, not a gown so your butt sticks out!😁. I was told to open the door when I was ready and the MRI tech would come and get me. The room locks when you exit and it had a number pad that you set your code to re-enter after you scan is done. The MRI tech Krystal walked me into the MRI area, the machine was new and the area was clean. Krystal was great and explained everything to me. I laid on the bed of the MRI, she placed my head on the top and put on the tv goggles, felt like I was astronaut😂, she covered me with blankets, said they were cameras, she also gave me a little ball to squeeze if I needed to talk with her during the exam. She started the machine and slid me into the MRI, I was already watching Netflix and didn’t realize I was in an MRI, there was a nice fan blowing me and I was not hot at all, I also didn’t feel claustrophobic at all. Krystal was talking to me through the goggles I was wearing. The scan started, it was a bit loud at times, but I still could hear the sound on the TV, it vibrates some, bangs a bit, you slide back and forth and in and out of the MRI, you have to hold you breath a few times nothing to bad, they are talking you through it as well. It takes about an hour, I am bigger guy, towards the end of the procedure my shoulders started to ache, nothing to bad, just from laying still. Once the scan was over, I was escorted back to the changing room, collected my belongings and left the clinic. I was told that my results would be ready in 7 to 10 days and I would schedule a call with their Physician or NP/PA to review my results. It took about a week, I received an email to schedule my call, it was a zoom call. The call was informative and the provider walked me through 30 pages of information. It exceeded my expectations, she was very knowledgeable and made me feel at ease. I was relieved that I was cancer free and my brain was looking good, they did find a moderate issue with my heart, and tons of age related bone and spine degeneration, nothing major, which was a big relief. I am aware this is not the end all be all scan, but it gave me so much valuable information about my health. I already schedule a follow up with my primary care and will use this information to make better choices in my healthcare journey. Thank you to the Prenuvo Philly team!! GO BIRDS!🦅
Worth every penny. Just wish they would do the MRI with contrast! Hopefully in the future.
