Scheduled my cat for a spay. Vet didn't tell me my cat was male until after he was sedated and shaved. Still charged me for the sedation.

I have always had nothing but positive experiences here at Samaritan with the staff and my animals were always treated by the doctors amazing and recovered quickly and smoothly
Although today it was a different experience, there was one receptionist in particular who had a very bad attitude. She was rude and short towards every single person who came in and told us and one other person their appointment was earlier than we came in but “they will take us this time”.
There is no reason why two different people came in for their 9am appointment at 9:30, when we recently received a message confirming at 9:30 as well. She answered each phone with an attitude that she has “8 more people on hold and they need to wait”. I haven’t had a bad experience here but their receptionist here today January 7th, 2026 at 9am changed that experience for me.
I hope going forward I will have a better experience and a don’t receive attitude for simply being there.

This vet clinic customer service is the worst. It's unorganized, if you're a walk in, they tell you get there by 730am sign in. Then they tell you 5 hrs later they can't see you. Taking my dogs elsewhere going forward. Can't believe they run a business like this. Take your pets elsewhere.. your front desk is horrible!

Prior to my most recent visit, I had a pleasant experience back in 2021 when came in with my cat to be treated for his ear infection. Doctor was very knowledgeable and my cat recovered fairly well which is why we decided to come back again to Samaritan. I didn’t have to visit until recently because we wanted to check on the quality of life for my cat. Unfortunately, I was not satisfied at all with the experience I had this time around. The receptionists were really rude when they told us to check in and they gave me attitude when I asked where the sign in sheet was. While that’s not quite a big deal, it was just an accumulation of just the prude attitude from when we checked in, to getting an opinion on Euthanasia, down to paying for everything. If my cat was strong enough to last another day, I honestly would’ve chosen to take him somewhere else. As a business owner myself, it’s important to show empathy for your guests when you know they have a difficult decision to make such as euthanizing, thus giving attitude when checking in and paying is a bit insensitive. As for when we were getting an opinion from the doctor, I just didn’t appreciate how harshly he put my weak cat on the floor (to check his balance) when he was visibly in pain.
I did want to thank the Vet Tech who did make this experience a little better as he was very helpful through the process. I know many have had positive experiences here which is why we chose to go to Samaritan, but after today we will not be returning again for our other animals. Our animals are like our family and when we have to make sensitive decisions it’s important that the staff can show empathy.

Horrible people here they don't care if you animal is dying ,sick ,hurt unless they know you then they will get you right in but walk in in an emergency at 9 am and they are too busy sorry for your luck.

We are incredibly grateful for the care and service of Samaritan Animal Hospital. We unfortunately had to put down our 15 year old Doberman today, the day after Thanksgiving. We called so many places, most were closed or unable to provide the service we needed today. Samaritan Animal Hospital was not only open and able to help, but incredibly kind and patient with us and our sweet old girl. Despite being incredibly busy (because so many places were closed and they had multiple emergencies that had been brought in), they got to us in a reasonable amount of time and handled everything with care. From the receptionist to the vet tech, everyone did their best to make sure our dog and us were treated with respect and dignity. It was our first time here and we were impressed by the cleanliness of the office and kindness of the staff. Additionally, the price for the service we received was better than other places we have used in the past. We are forever grateful. Thank you, Samaritan Animal Hospital.
