The last several weeks have been quite difficult due to the loss of my husband. So much to deal with and so much paperwork, but because of the wonderful and caring help that Tom of Sorensen's Mortuary in Hayward gave me, I need to write a commendation for him. Tom is so knowledgable, patient, thoughtful, and gives excellent direction and advice. He listened to what I needed, and if he had important information to add, he did with great care. The outcome was that the arrangements could not have been better or more easy for me. Tom was truly outstanding in every respect, and by being so thorough and dedicated, he was quite a big help in getting through the sorrowful days. I could not have asked for a better person than Tom, and I am grateful to him for all he did and how he conducted himself throughout. My thanks to a very special man.
Recently my nephew passed away. Tom of Sorensen Chapel was the Funeral Director for his services. I wanted to express my utmost appreciation for Tom's time, comforting words and assistance to my nephew and to the family during the viewing, the funeral Mass and the burial ritual. Tom has gone above and beyond to be sensitive and accommodating to our special requests and made all efforts to ensure that families members' physical, emotional and spiritual needs are being cared for. Our families are very very grateful to Tom and the rest of the Sorensen Chapel staff.
Tom treated me and my family with so much care and concern it was truly remarkable. Losing a parent is hard enough but I never felt pressured or "sold" into "packages" to get her treated respectfully and laid to rest. Tom personally drove her 240 miles for a grave site service in her hometown, waited patiently through the entire service and then spoke gently and caringly to the family at the end before driving back home 240 miles! In this time of COVID our service was unusual for us without a church or chapel, but Sorensen's definately took a lot of the pressure off of us.
