My experience with Ana Sofia Devaney, a nurse practitioner, has been consistently disappointing. She is almost never available for follow-up or consultations, even when test results require discussion. Every time I’ve needed clarification, I was contacted by someone else instead — and in some cases, no one followed up at all. There is no direct communication or continuity of care, which makes it very difficult to rely on her as a primary provider.

Amy Li has very excellent bedside manners. She listened to all of my concerns, answered all of my questions, and treated me promptly. I did not feel rushed at all. I walked away feeling heard and taken care of. The medical assistant and front desk were nice as well.

Honestly, if you are looking for transgender healthcare, I would recommend you go anywhere else if you can. They promote on their website that they provide gender affirming care, but it is a pretty dishonest claim since they don't know the first thing about trans people's healthcare needs. The first thing about trans health care is to not misgender your patients, which they do constantly on every form. My legal sex has been changed for over a decade and they still have it wrong on my charts. When I pointed this out they refused to change it because of their policy. They also state on their website that "Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics, in partnership with Santa Barbara Transgender Advocacy Network and the LA Gender Center are providing training for our staff from the front desk to the clinical providers, in order to ensure trans proficient care for all our patients." This is super misleading since, while the SBTAN has done some trainings with staff, the clinic as a whole has ignored every recommendation that's been made and the front staff continue to misgender folks all the time. The Dr's I have seen are nice enough and I appreciate their willingness to take on trans patients, but I still leave feeling worse about myself every time I have to go. With just a few changes they could be a real trans inclusive clinic, but as it is now, I would not recommend.

You go in an a 30 minute appointment and wait an 1 1/2 for the doctor to even come in the room and they don’t even address everything you had come to be seen for. Horrible service and skills!!!

The SBNC Isla Vista Neighborhood Clinic has provided me life-saving gender affirming care. The staff has always been kind. I feel fortunate to have a place like the Isla Vista Neighborhood Clinic that provides care I cannot easily receive elsewhere. I am very grateful for the help they have provided me.

Worst doctors office you could possibly go to. If you can go anywhere else don't come here. Receptionists are not willing to help and totally rude. They lied trying to put all the blame on us and they take no accountability for their actions. They have zero compassion for a human life let alone basic respect. The doctor is fine but everything leading up to see the doctor was horrible and they think they can get away with it because they're the only option for low income and they take advantage of that. There's a reason they have so many bad reviews. Long story short we'll be talking to the family lawyer about a condition getting worse because of their neglect.
