We have been attending Mission Dance for 3 years. My daughter has loved all her teachers and I love the Ms. Amanda/administration, the monthly announcements and the organized/smooth running recitals. Great experience for us and we would highly recommend for anyone looking for a professional dance studio in Fremont.
My daughters have been coming to Mission Dance since they were 3 and 4 years old. In their first year at this dance studio, my 3 year old would have melt downs weekly during the first half of the year and refused to attend her Kinderdance class. Kelsy, her instructor, along with Amanda, the office manager, used different methods to encourage (and coax) her to attend and participate class every week. Kelsy was always patient and has even held her hand and carried her around so she could partake in the class. I was worried my daughter would end up missing her recital due to her refusal to participate. Kelsy and I would chat after class about what worked and didn't work and refine from there. And then half way through the year, something clicked (or that my daughter turned 3 and a half), and she started to willingly go to class and have fun while she was at it. She made it to the recital! I can't thank Kelsy and Amanda enough for their patience and dedication. Also mention worthy, during recital pictures that first year, my 3 year old decided to have another meltdown that day. We missed the group photos, but Kelsy hung out an extra 1.5 hours with us trying to coax my 3 year old to take a photo. Kelsy played tag with her, gave her horsey rides, and tried talking and tricking her into taking a photo (failing several times before succeeding). Finally, we got her to take a photo with my 4 year old and then a solo with me "next" to her (standing several feet away - I was ultimately cropped out). Now, both my daughters are on their 4th year with Mission Dance and still love coming to class every week. All their instructors, Amanda, Kelsy, Sophia, Kaitlyn, Leilani, and Patricia, have all done a great job keeping them excited about dance and giving them a well-rounded experience. They have fun every week with their peers and their instructors (and as a parent, I have fun chatting with the parents every week too). Before and after class, you can find my kids running into Amanda's office to hang out, tell her stories, ask her a million questions about her desk area, and pretending to work at the desk. Amanda handles my kids' inquiries with patience, love, and kindness as she multitasks and does her real job handling the desk and answering real inquiries. Amanda has been there with my kids from the start as their Kinderdance summer session instructor and subsequently their Kinderdance and tap/jazz instructor throughout the years. This studio is like family. My daughters and I have become friends with many of the families at the studio. The instructors care and the owner, Donna, is visible and takes time to get to know her students and their families. Our experience here has been very rewarding.
I came on to update my review as my daughters are still attending this studio and was shocked to see someone bad mouthing our teacher Miss Amanda. My daughters both took classes with her for 3+ years and now my niece takes kinder class with her on Saturdays. She's still and excellent teacher and her classes have and still are full since the beginning of the season. My kids got their recital costumes recently and are looking forward to the June performance! Everything is very organized and parents are kept up to date on all info.
