This place was recommended to my by two friends, so I sent a request via their website and got a response fairly quickly. My first tattoo was done by Angel and I'm very satisfied with the way that it turned out. He was nice and casual when speaking to me and showed patience when I was obviously nervous about getting my first one. My second tattoo about a week later was done by Sergio and he was able to take me without needing an appointment. Although this was more of a spontaneous decision, Sergio perfectly envisioned what I wanted. He was great to talk to and threw in some laughs while he was working.

Noli is absolutely great! He was great at communicating and I was able to come in for multiple consultations to make sure the design was perfect before scheduling my appointment. I did come in with my own design but resizing and placement was my main concern. I did one consultation just to talk about the original design and how to modify it to be the size I wanted it to be. The second consultation was for placement and refining the size. I really liked that I was able to get the stencil placed on me before "signing off" on the design. Because my schedule was very flexible and I live not too far from the shop, scheduling was straight forward. We worked out a day and time that worked best for both of us and I paid a deposit to hold the date. I ended up coming to my appointment 20 minutes early and Noli was already ready to go. This wasn't my first tattooing experience so I knew what to expect. The final product turned out better than I expected. Noli added more depth to my tattoo that made it look like an artist took a paintbrush to my hip.The level of detail in the amount of time (2.5hr) was amazing; I'm impressed. The only reason why I docked a star is that, during the consultation process, there were a few times where we would schedule a time and then I would get a last minute rescheduling request. Because I live close, it wasn't too much of nuisance but it was a little frustrating.

After checking various Yelp reviews, I reached out to Mainland Ink via their website. A short while later I was contacted by Sergio. He messaged me his instagram with examples of his work. I really liked his art so I sent him an example of the design I wanted. We agreed on a price and appointment time. He had two designs and they were spot on to my idea, it was hard to pick between the two. I decided on one and he got to work. The whole process was not very painful and he was finished in about 45 minutes. I really enjoyed our conversation while he was working. His after care instructions were very clear and thorough.
