We called for an estimate and were led to believe the repair (parts and labor) for our specific washing machine gearcase assembly / transmission would be less than $400. They came out and that's exactly what it was. Except the estimate was well over $500. The exact same machine, parts, and labor they had discussed on the phone, only $100+ more dollars. So buying a new machine is obviously a better choice. Only they got us for a $100+ estimate charger. Clearly, they knew it would be cheaper to buy a new machine, but were able to charge us for an very expensive estimate. Bait = "It would be under $400 worse case scenario". Switch - Well over $500, decline, excessive estimate charge.

I have called G & H twice. Both times I interfaced with Karl. The first time he advised me on our LG refrigerator (the compressor had quit working). He advised that the compressor had a 10 year warranty. I called LG and they replaced the compressor and gave a one time no labor cost. The second time he advised me on a Samsung electric range (the control board display had gone wacky). I performed the diagnostic he suggested but the control board did not reset. I decided to buy a new range instead of repairing the old range. Even though I did not use G & H for any repair, I will definitely call them and suggest them for any appliance repair because of the customer service provided by Karl.

They repaired my broken dishwasher where the main pump just stopped working. They did a great job on the repair and got it fixed on the first time out. The only reason I'm not giving them a five star is that I did have to poke at them to find out when parts were coming in and when they were coming out. But overall, very satisfied.

Advised over the phone that replacement might make more sense than a repair. Who still does that! We have a 15 to 20 year old front load washing machine custom-built into a kitchen cabinet with a closed front cabinet door. When we remodeled the kitchen it never occurred to me that washing machine sizes would increase so dramatically! I was sure that my only option would be to keep this old Kenmore running for as long as possible. G & H took the time to check around for a refurbished machine and texted me his findings. As it turns out, we were able to find a new smaller unit that fits in the space. Thanks for the honest assessment, extra work, and advice

Called for dryer repair almost a month ago. Karl Stephenson and helper came to house. After looking over the problem, came up with a soluiton of needing a new timer. Gave Karl partial payment and have not heard from him since. Have left 3 messages over the past week, still nothing. Scam?? Be wary of this company, or rather its technicians.

Longtime customer. They repaired our dishwasher's problems as it aged towards obsolescence. I'm sure they would have been able to keep it going had the circuit board not been so fond of its daily sauna! Great job on drier, too. Thank you, Woody and Karl!

I got service for our refrigerator from this company under the prior owner, before he passed away. The prior owner was fantastic. RIP I got service from the one who took over for our microwave, and he did fine. Because of prior experiences, I called them again because of problems with our ref. It turned out to me a matter of ordering a new part. Ok fair enough, had to it for their time to come first time and to come again second time (though if the part was just shipped to us, I could have done it myself - it's just the ice bin that contains the ice for the dispenser). Now here's the bad part. 1. I didn't expect my call to be forwarded to another company - Do All Appliance Services. In other words, I didn't get service from the company I called. Apparently they do business together. But what's the point of going thru reviews of a company and deciding to use them again because of past experiences when they send your call to someone else? 2. I had Do All look into replacing the light fixture in our oven. I thought they'd just order and replace the bulb. I don't know what the technician did but he managed to break the cord that connects to the bulb fixture. There were even sparks when he broke the cord that connected to the casing that housed the bulb. A simple "I'm too lazy to find where to buy the bulb" has now become a "where do I find this whole fixture"? He said, the cord wasn't connected properly so it broke. Hmm, well it wasn't broken before he messed with it. He said he'll look for the fixture -- should I hold my breath? It would be different if I was referred to someone else that turned it fine. Sadly not the case here.

We have an ancient Maytag washer that started leaking badly and after getting a neighbor's help to lift it, found the leak was coming right out the center bottom where the transmission is. We called G&H based on Yelp and Google reviews, got an immediate reply, and a very honest recommendation to buy a new machine. We have other "elderly" appliances that are coming up to (or halfway through!) their second decade, and have saved the phone number for future use. (Side note: as of Mar 2021, the phone number on Google is incorrect. Use the one here on Yelp.)
