Absolutely beautiful shop! After moving back to California in October 2024, I had been hesitant on where to go for my first piece of ink after being back. I saw Lao Wang had an opening after a cancellation, checked out his work and was determined to get some work done by the gentleman. Josh was super friendly and greeted me to the shop with open arms. I also had the privilege of meeting Ms. Ting! 🙂🤘 The entire staff is awesome. Now! Back to Lao! Lao was very gentle, focused and definitely interested in the piece that I requested. Shanghai is my official home for ink as a resident of the local area. Thank you guys! Lao! You rule man! 🥲💙🫂🤘
I went to ms. Tings looking for a very specific style tattoo based off a photo I had on my phone from years ago. I loved Gabriel's profile on their website and reached out. Joshua helped get the specifics of the tattoo I was looking for over email and gave me a quote. During the actual tattoo they were very communicative for the process as this was my first tattoo. Checked in on my pain and comfort constantly. Excellent patient care. Great and specific after care instructions and it's healing great so far. Will definitely be returning for any future tattoos
I’ve gotten two tattoos at Shanghai Tattoo in Folsom over the years, and both experiences have been excellent. They are incredibly easy to work with and genuinely kind people from start to finish. When looking for a tattoo shop, quality and care matter. And they deliver both.
My first tattoo was done by Ting. It’s a red carnation in honor of my mother, which I got shortly after she passed a couple of years ago. It’s beautiful. My second tattoo was done by Lao Wang. It’s a hummingbird in flight in honor of my grandmother. The bird is on one arm, looking toward the carnation on the other arm, looking over my mom’s flower. Both tats are stunning.
