I'm behind the times. I know that. My stairs and deck are made of magnesite, which is no longer made or available. Yet the deck and stairs are in good shape. There's minor chipping and cracking that needs attention but, structurally, everything's sound. When Capital's estimator reviewed the situation, he agreed that repair and resealing would be a sufficient remedy, and I accepted the company's bid. Then everything started going downhill. The estimator decided to check with a structural engineer who pointed out that new laws require replacing magnesite with newer materials. Yet the law is for structures with three or more units. If you need any repairs other than waterproofing completed as part of your project they may not be the best company to use. We had extensive water damage to an exterior staircase which required a lot of the wood to be replaced. They did tell us at the beginning that we may want someone else to finish the smooth stucco but they left gaping holes in our walls and no one ever came out to inspect the project or to see if we were satisfied. We had several other contractors come out afterward and they all said the work was not done properly and would be difficult to correct. They were the most expensive estimate we received and it ended up costing us additional $4000 to complete... read full review

Capital did an amazing and efficient job redoing our rooftop deck for our townhome. They were extremely responsive, timely and attentive to the details and questions we had. Our decks are waterproofed and protected from the rain, which has been a game changer with the latest storms in LA, as well as aesthetically finished. I would highly recommend!
