I'm writing a review for this shop even though I was not a paying patron, the thing about what motivated me to do so is the fact that even though he didn't have the gear needed to repair a grommet but when I mentioned that I had a kit somebody just gave me but had never used or figured out how to yet then he told me to show it to him and proceeded to figure it out with me and essentially put it on. I was ready to tender a payment or compensation for the time and was told it was no bother, it's little details like this that are missing from customer service in our culture these days - taking the time to listen and try to figure out how to assist somebody, even if in the...read full review
After calling & visiting several places in North County I found this place and called them up, spoke to the owner who was friendly, very knowledgeable, and WILLING to fix my shoes!! The other places said it couldn’t be done! (One place even hung up on me lol 😆)
All I needed was a non-slip sole/bottom attached my current shoes, so that I could wear them to work at a restaurant. He can take any pair of shoes & make them non-slip, which he did with great success!
It has now been more than 6 months & the sole hasn’t come off, separated, nothing! It’s perfect! He did a simple job that allll others said couldn’t be done! lol

A lot of negativity towards the owner Jim,
My experience over the last 5 years has been the opposite. I have taken him my leather hand bag, my special Argentina leather only boots, Bruno Magli dress shoes, wife’s Fendi slip ons, etc. always recommend Jim and he always delivers (last 5 years). He is upfront with what he can and cannot do, he has turned away repairs from me before. They also shine shoes!
I recommend all my friends go to Jim, best in the business.
