Fat Kitty City is a peaceful cat rescue located in El Dorado Hills. The outdoor area has little houses and hideaways for cats to enjoy, and it is kept clean and well-maintained. Visitors are greeted by friendly adult cats eager for attention and chin scratches, with caring volunteers ready to help find the right companion based on activity level and personality. The rescue has an on-site vet who is kind and informative, offering resources for spaying/neutering and food for feral colonies. They have helped people find homes for stray cats and provided support to ensure these homes are suitable for the cats. The rescue also assists with medical care, as seen when they paid for surgery to help an injured calico with a badly injured front arm and most of her tail through their Elf Fund. Many fostered cats, like Cricket, have found loving homes after being rescued from outdoor conditions. The staff is dedicated and professional, making the adoption process smooth and full of love. Additionally, Fat Kitty City offers food supplies for pets, helping owners keep their cats and dogs happy and healthy. Overall, it is a worthy cause for volunteering or donating, showing deep care for the community and its feline inhabitants.
I had to surrender my cat to Fat Kitty City Humane Society. This was a very difficult decision for me however I knew when I arrived and met with Christine that I had made the right decision.
The staff and volunteers provide pure dedication and love to their cats which makes this a very special place and gives these kitties a chance to live a great life in beautiful surroundings.

If you are looking for the most best rescue to donate to or adopt from, choose Fat Kitty City!! What makes them unique is their unwavering commitment to help all cats in need. I found myself in a very stressful situation where a neighbor kept repeatedly trying to harm a stray cat, despite all my attempts to diffuse the situation. Eventually I ended up taking in the cat (now named Leo). Leo had severe dental issues and Fat Kitty City stepped up to help me get him surgery and find him a home when no other rescue did. These people are angels. After searching for help for my daughters kitty for over 3 weeks, thinking euthanasia was going to be our only option, they stepped up and helped Binx.
