I had heard good things about JD Academy from a friend so I decided to make an appointment to have my hair highlighted. It had been several years since I had dyed or highlighted my hair and for the last 10 years or so I had just let my hair go completely gray. When I arrived at my appointment I was greeted by a friendly staff at the desk. After a few minutes my hair stylist, Quin, warmly greeted me and brought me to her station. This is my third visit to JD Academy of Salon, and my first visit with student stylist Kristen. She is truly amazing! She has the talent of a seasoned sylist, and is very kind and caring. My hair looks beautiful, and I couldn't be happier. Kristen was kind and attentive every step of the way, and ensured that I was getting the color and style I wanted. I highly recommend Kristen and this wonderful salon.
This hidden gem in Danville is totally worth skipping the mainstream learning salons. I love how the students and the instructors make it a true learning opportunity by being side by side and explain what they are doing to the client and the students. They not only ask you what you want, make sure by asking for photos and even collaborate with you to make sure you are getting what you want, but they also want you to feel good about your services! They will make sure you leave happy. The prices honestly can't be beat. You'll have to spend some time, since this is a learning salon... Not fast paced, because they need to learn skills...
