I would never trust my pets here. I was lied to and treated very dishonestly and I had to go down to get my bill straightened out. I was given the runaround for 5 days. no one would call me back and I was hung up on and lied about it. there are better places that care about their customers for much cheaper prices.

In the 10 years I had my dog City Pet Hospital is by far the worst clinic I have ever encountered. Here’s an outline all of my encounters 1: Annual checkup. Got vaccines and health certificate. Vet made treatment recs based on findings. No problems. 2: Scheduled recommended chest x-ray and echo. Dropped dog off at 8. After a few hours I received a phone call from the clinic telling me there was a scheduling problem and they could only complete chest x-ray. They asked me to bring my dog in the next day for the chest echo 3: Chest echo completed, no problems 4: After the heart procedures, vet recommended heart meds. He told me that there was a prescription waiting for me to pick up. I told him I did not have time to pick up meds that same day but could the next day. Next day I went to pick up meds and the receptionist said they had already sold it to someone else since “I never came to pick it up”. Said she would “do me a favor” and check to see if they had any in stock. Luckily they did. 5: It was determined my dog could tolerate anesthesia so I scheduled other recommended procedures. My dog was supposed to get biopsies, mass removal, and a dental cleaning. I dropped my dog off at the clinic at 8:30. Approximately 30 minutes later, I received a phone call that their blood machine was broken and the vet would not move forward with the procedure without first testing my dog’s blood. Unfortunately, I was already across town and had multiple work meetings scheduled. I was not able to pick up my dog until the afternoon. 6: Dropped my dog off at 8:30 for the procedure. At approximately 11:00am the vet called to discuss options and we established a plan of care. I asked when the procedures would be completed and the vet said “this afternoon”. I asked if it would be around 3:00 or 4:00 and he replied that it would be much earlier since he was about to begin the procedures. At 4:00 that afternoon I had not received any communication. I went into the office around 4:15 and the staff informed me that they were just now beginning the procedures. My dog wasn’t finished until approximately 7:30 that evening. When I picked him up my dog’s fur totally crusted and he smelled so bad I had to drive with the windows open. Even though the poor thing had just been poked and prodded, I had to give him a bath when I got home. 7: I took my dog in to get some stitches removed. The day before, I had noticed that my dog was lethargic and not eating. At this appointment, I mentioned to the vet tech that I was concerned about my dog. She left to go speak to the vet and when she returned she said that the vet could provide some appetite stimulants. I declined and took my dog home. The next day my dog was still lethargic and not eating. I scheduled an emergency appointment at my previous vet’s office. Without going into too much detail, he ended up being transferred to a hospital where he stayed the night. The next day I had run out of treatment options and, tragically, had to euthanize my dog. It’s still a mystery what happened to my dog. They know he had very low blood platelets and he appeared to have blood in his lungs. No one could determine the cause. Now I’m not necessarily saying that there is any causation. This could have very well been an unfortunate coincidence. But I can’t help but wonder... What if the vet who removed my dog’s stitches noticed that something was wrong? What if, when I mentioned that I was concerned, the vet did a quick examination (which I would have happily paid for)? What if the vet informed me that they were booked for the day but recommended I take him to get examined at another clinic? Perhaps my dog would be here with me now if I had received care for him 24 hours earlier.

My dogs have been seen in this hospital for a few years now, and even though I no longer live in that area, I still commute from far away to get the services there, because I was always satisfied with the treatment of my 2 dogs. I recently took my male dog to get checked, since he had what it seem to be a rash and bumps all over his body, with a really bad one under his chin (it was bloody) due to seasonal allergies and was only sent home with a shampoo and a prescription for a cream that wasn't in stock, and currently still waiting on it after 10 days I requested on their online pharmacy. I made a call after a few days to see if they could just give a message to the vet who saw my dog, to let her know that he hasn't improved with the shampoo and keeps wanting to scratch all of his body. He physically seems very uncomfortable and sad, and I did tell the vet at the time of his appt that his activity level wasn't the same. First of all, it was weird that he didn't get anything else prescribed or given at the time of the appt if the rash is already everywhere and you can also see blood. I told her that I'm already giving him Apoquel daily and nothing has improved. When I called, the person at the front desk didn't even asked to know more about the situation and she just said that he needed to be seen again, and I'm trying to explain that he has THE SAME rash and symptoms as before, when he was seen, nothing has changed but his situation hasn't improved. Maybe I could just get a different prescription online because what he was given doesn't seem to work, but to me it seems unreasonable that just because the doctor didn't prescribe him an actual medication, I have to take him again to be seen for the same problem so that I can pay $100+ more just for her to be like: oh yea, we can give you this pill that I could have gotten through your online pharmacy. It would be another story if the vet says that I would have to come back for my dog to get a shot instead or something else, then it's different than me paying for another full exam for something that she already saw, and just for the new treatment. I completely understand that this is a business, but it would be nice that your employees at least show care about the animals and try to be mindful on how they respond to customers. At least try to pass the message along to the vet and pretend you are doing something else besides try and get people to go book an extra appt, hire people who are more empathetic and understanding of others.

We've been coming here for four years and each year, the experience gets worse. Two years ago, the person working at the front kept rolling their eyes when questions are asked, and now even when we call to confirm appointments, they make promises they cannot fulfill. We kept giving them the benefit of the doubt, but it just gets worse every year. It's near impossible to reach them by phone because they would let it go to voicemail, or pickup and request to place you on hold asap, and never get back to you. Prior to our appointment, I had called confirm that we could drop off our pet because we had other appointments to go to. Of course they forget to note that down and then requests for us to just reschedule because they're overbooked for drop offs as if it's convenient to drive all the way here from SF just to go home and not get anything done. They don't value your time, or your needs with other family members and they get so insensitive. Each new staff just seems to care less. If they don't care about the owner of the pet as a person, would they really care about your pet?

I am satisfied with their services. Doctor friendly and knowledgeable. My main concern is that they won't attempt to trick me into getting any unnecessary services to take advantage of me. I trusted them.

Hi, I like to recommend City Pet Hospital. They have helped my two dogs when my primary vet facility don't take emergency appointments on regular working days. Although I like my regular vet facility they are too busy to take in emergency. The emergency centers are very expensive! City Pet Hospital took excellent care of my dogs and this is a big relief they were able to see us without waiting so long! Please checkout and visit them!!

The worst front desk service I've ever received at any vet in the Bay Area. Over the last couple of years, I've had to put up with being left on hold for a long (+5 minutes) amount of time whenever I try to call, being told I'll be called back (never happens), my concerns being dismissed as trivial, eye rolls and rudeness of the front desk staff, bills being more than originally quoted, and my questions going unanswered. I even tried to schedule a teeth cleaning over the phone - just to be hung up on multiple times after being put on hold. I finally gave up and went with another vet service. Don't waste your time with this place.

I am very grateful to the team at City Pet Hospital - they have provided consistent and compassionate care for my dog at a fair price. We've been to other vets that feel like a high-pressure sell situation for every decision with guilt trips included! Our experience with Dr. Sohi and Dr. Chan has been incredibly positive with pragmatic guidance through complex decisions for our dog in both good and challenging health situations. We drive from SF because they are open on Saturday and we can generally park in the lot or nearby. We are very happy with this practice.

I am new to the area and needed a good veterinarian, and I was so happy that I found City Pet Hospital. They treated my dog with such care, even though he was very scared to be there. I highly recommend this hospital for your pet's care.
