My great grandma has memory loss, so everyday situations that most of us don’t think twice about can become overwhelming for her. Today she was so worried that getting her hair cut would make her lose her beautiful curls. She asked the same questions over and over because she was scared and just needed reassurance. Seeing someone you love so deeply struggle with memory is heartbreaking, and all you want is for them to feel safe and understood.

Sarah was nothing short of amazing. She never once seemed irritated or rushed. She answered every question with the same patience, kindness, and compassion as if it were the very first time it had been asked. She took the time to listen, to reassure my great grandma, and to make sure she felt comfortable every step of the way. By the end of the appointment, not only did my great grandma still have her beautiful curls, but she also left smiling and feeling confident again.
