About Cresta Verde Golf Course
Cresta Verde Golf Course, established as a Country Club in 1927 by Randolph Scott, offers a unique and varied golfing experience. The course features well-maintained greens and fairways, although some areas off the main fairways are affected by gophers and ground squirrels. All bunkers have been abandoned and are now dirt/grass depressions. The course has 18 holes, two of which have fairly flat fairways, while the rest present up, down, and side slope challenges. Holes 2 and 12 have a small swamp in front of the tee, and holes 4, 5, and 8 have a tiny creek that must be considered during play. Par 4 #16 has a significant two-axis sloped green, and Par 3, #17, feels elevated with a smaller green. The course is not crowded in the early morning, and the current green fee for seniors, including a cart, is $35, making it a great deal. The clubhouse has a hot food grill, a full bar, and a small cooler with beer as an option. The driving range has an uphill slope that may affect carry and rollout distance. The club's lead acid battery-powered carts may feel outdated compared to newer models, but they serve their purpose efficiently. The course and staff receive positive reviews, and the clubhouse provides a safe and pretty environment. One unique feature of this course is the opportunity to meet people in the clubhouse for various activities, such as completing online purchases. Overall, Cresta Verde Golf Course is recommended for its unique and challenging layout and affordable pricing.
