We love Seishindo! My daughter was a student about ten years ago and last year my six year old son started learning with Sensei Shane. It’s been a great experience both times! Shane is very patient with the younger students and makes sure they learn more than just the moves, but also the history behind it. There is also a high level of respect between the students and between the teachers and students. My son has learned a lot! I highly recommend this Dojo to my friends all the time and believe that everyone would have the same positive experience!Update: My son is almost ten now and still going to Seishindo under the training of Sensei Shane. We love Seishindo! Shane connects with each child he teaches, knows their quirks and personalities, and quietly teaches them in a way that both makes them feel safe and able to make mistakes, while at the same time pushing and challenging them and building their confidence. He is amazing.

My wife and I brought our son to Chico Seshindo to learn self-defense and confidence and we have certainly noticed the difference. Sensei Shane is patient and personable. During one of the tests (2 minute squat) we learned something about the level of determination that our son has. He was shaking and beet-red from holding that squat, but he wouldn't give up. We would not have known this if it weren't for Chico Seishindo. Good parent memories right there!
