I made an appointment for an consultation and gave them my age and told them I was having unbearable menopause symptoms for many years that were not going away. Then I waited several months for the appointment. I get there and pay my $30 co-pay. Mary Lowe NP comes into the exam room. Asks me to repeat all my symptoms & and talk about how all that made me feel. So desperate for SOME help, I had to fight back the tears. Then she IMMEDIATELY said I was TOO OLD for ANY menopause treatment and told me to go get herbs & vitamins-- which I'm already taking. She offered NO other suggestions for non-HRT relief or tips or anything. She flat-out refused to do ANY lab testing either. She literally spent MAYBE 5 minutes with me. Why did they schedule my appointment in the first place? They KNEW my age AND my problem !! What a scam. This experience was just awful. I was REALLY hoping a female provider would be better than my previously dismissive male doctors who made me feel like an idiot for even trying to seek care. This experience with Mary Lowe NP was worse. The truth is.. good healthcare in Butte County is very hard to find. When Ampla is the very best in town, you know there's a problem. Disappointed is an understatement.
