I usually don't think much about grocery runs, but this Vons honestly makes my day every time I go. I checked out with Julia and David recently and they were cracking jokes and talking with me. I don't even remember exactly what we laughed about, but I walked out smiling like I'd just hung out with friends. They are soooo funny. It made something as routine as grocery shopping feel fun. I always appreciate real human interaction, especially nowadays with so many self-checkouts everywhere. Julia and David are the perfect example of why. They're warm, funny, and make you feel welcome. This review is really just for them, thank you both for making my errands something I actually look forward to.
I live in Vista and usually shop at my local Albertsons. Today after a doctors visit in Carlsbad, I stopped into Vons. I picked up a few things for my dinner. Everything was going well when I got to the checkout I was having a hard time with my app it was set up for Albertsons. I wasn't sure what to do to switch it over. Fortunately, Kimberly at the register greeted with me with a smile And said oh "this happens all the time", she patiently walked me through the steps to get my phone synced with Vons and she made sure I had clipped all my coupons so I could get all my discounts. She was very kind and professional and didn't make me feel stupid. I am so glad I ended up in her line today, she is a true professional and a wonderful ambassador for Vons.
Convenient location, nice staff, great bakery willing to make special orders. Freshness of produce is hit or miss sometimes. Please set the radius for shopping cart wheel lock to be further. I went down the wrong aisle in parking lot when leaving store. Was a nice day so thought I'd just walk to end of aisle and over to mine. Nope, wheels locked just as I was turning the corner. Had to muscle the cart out of the way of traffic, leave some of the groceries while I hauled the rest to my car in a couple of trips, and leave the cart in an inconvenient location for other people. If I had been older or more mobility challenged it would have been a serious problem.
