HORRIFIC experience all round! Here is my story so you don't have to suffer On December 11th I entrusted my dentures to Dr Maneet Dharia at La Costa Family Dental He told me it would likely take 3 visits and assured me he could do the job. I believed he was kind, honest and competent. I was wrong. I explained I have an exposed trigeminal nerve so putting pressure on my jaw is challenging for me. I also have a severe underbite, please just make new dentures modelled on my old worn ones. I don’t want the denture adjusted, I am 63 years old and have enough issues with my jaw without having to realign my bite. It is now Feb 28th, and 6 visits later, it’s time to share my experience because I was wrong about Dr Dharia, and I don’t want anyone else to suffer at his hands. When I returned for my next appointment - a long month later, despite my clear request, the denture had been made ‘fixing’ the underbite. I once again explained this would not work, and requested it be done as I asked. On the 3rd visit the top denture didn't fit, the bite was completely misaligned I was upset and Dr Dharia got frustrated, and took it out on me, repeatedly shoving the dentures down insanely hard on my jaw. I reminded him about my exposed nerve, tried to ask him to be gentle, but he took it as if I was trying to tell him how to do his job and pushed even harder for the whole fitting. It was a nightmare. I spent the whole time with tears of pain streaming down my face, trying to not move and further antagonize him. He told me he was frustrated, because I should be getting implants even though I had a disastrous allergic reaction to the last ones. He Lectured me, patronized me, rolled his eyes at the research I’d done, ignored my pleas. When he saw the deep pain I was in, he tried to write off my tears as disappointment because my dentures weren’t ready as promised. I was not crying because my denture had to be adjusted although that was very disappointing I was crying because I was in so much pain, and I was in shock. He was so rough that it took nearly two weeks for my jaw to recover. I didn’t want to go back, but I also had to have the dentures So I wrote to La Costa dental explaining the situation, and that I was scared to return They asked if I wanted to talk to someone about it. I said yes! They never got back to me. I had to go - I NEEDED those teeth it had already been months, but there was no way he was ever coming near my mouth again. The next time I went in for my appointment I was told the dentures weren’t ready. I live quite a distance away and don’t drive, uber is expensive, they send messages asking that I give 24 hours notice if I can’t come in, but didn’t extend me the same courtesy. A whole morning wasted, $70 wasted on uber, deep disappointment because every day I go without teeth I go without proper nourishment because it’s so hard to chew. Feeling so disrespected. A nice young girl did the next fitting - all the girls there are very sweet. The top Denture came back not only misaligned this time but so shoddily made that I could see through them at the back and there was a huge crack in them! See video attached The bottom dentures were so low that they weren’t visible at all in my mouth. Dr. Dharia came out, the first time I’d seen him since he assaulted my jaw. He said he’d have the top denture fixed but not the bottom. I was NOT happy! Told him I was going to write the review his office had sent constant messages asking me to write, and that I would be explicit about exactly what my experience had been. He said, in front of the whole office, “I’ll make you a deal, if you write a good review, I’ll fix the dentures” If I LIE he’ll do what I paid him thousands of dollars to do?? He then tried to tell me I’d been offered my money back - no I hadn’t! “Well I’m offering you your money back now” So you can get rid of me after I wasted 3 months, spent hundreds of dollars ubering back and forth, and had my traumatized jaw abused by you when it didn’t conform to incompetent substandard work? Oh hell no! I w
