I am very impressed with Golden Care! Everyone has been so thoughtful, caring, professional, and helpful. Not only does Golden Care provide in home care, but also assists families with care management, respite, long term care planning, VA Aid & Attendance, LTC insurance, placement for assisted living or memory care, and more. Located in North county San Diego, and they service throughout San Diego county. I'd highly recommend this company to others.
I found that they were extremely conscientious and very professional. Michel took care of me for a week at 12 hours a day and she couldn’t do enough. I’m really easy I think to please and was not hungry that first week after spine surgery. She tried to make or cook anything I wanted. Sometimes after making a great dish, I just wasn’t hungry. She just took it in stride and only wanted to be there to help and please. My son was very instrumental in hiring GOLDEN CARE as I was in no condition to do anything. I highly recommend them. They were just up to date on everything and stayed in constant touch with my son on what was going on. So, 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 💫 for them!
We are so thankful for Golden Care and the help they gave my parents and us in the last two years. We first met with Linda Urbina, Sales Manager & Director of Client Services at Golden Care in the fall of 2015 to get some assistance for my parents ( who were then 87, and 92) in their home. We met Linda at their office in Carlsbad and were instantly taken with her care and concern for us and my parent's situation. We decided on the spot to use Golden Care even though we had other interviews set up of potential care agencies. From that point on Linda did everything in her power to take care of my parent’s needs and assist us in navigating everything from the sale of their home, the handling of their possessions, their placement in an assisted living facility, the placement of several caregivers for both of my parents, and all the details involved with their deaths. Being from Montana and not familiar with things in California, Linda was literally a godsend and helped us in so many ways. With the distance a factor, she became our representative in tending to things that usually fall to a family member, and became friends with my parents and us thru her constant vigilance of their situation.Linda also took the time to visit both of my parents when they were in the hospital and also in skilled nursing as well as on a regular basis in the assisted living. All of the Golden Care caregivers who assisted my parents were well trained and professional, and truly “cared” for my mom and dad. My mom especially developed close friendship relationships with several of her regular caregivers and I can honestly say that they and Linda are what made the difference in her thriving at the Brookdale Carlsbad assisted living where she lived from Dec. of 2015 until her death in June of 2017. During that time we had a wide variety of care for both my parents facilitated by Golden Care. Both of them were hospitalized for falls and such and thus required extra daily help for a time. At other times it was two or three times a week or as they needed. A lot of the care for my mom was just someone to visit with and take care of small tasks. One of her caregivers helped her by introducing her to different residents in the home, and helped her to make friends. Another of her caregivers who was with her the longest, Amanda Ortega, took her to doctor and dentist appointments and also gave her a shower and helped with her correspondence and phone calls as she was hard of hearing. She also took my mom for walks and gave her a foot bath and massage every few days. My mom relied on her and felt very close to her as well. She was who she wanted at the hospital when she suffered a series of strokes a month before she died. We are so thankful for the excellent care that Amanda gave my mom. It takes a special person to deal with an elderly person with such patience and grace. She went above and beyond her job in so many instances, and was always conscientious and so careful and gentle in handling my mom. All of the staff, including the schedulers, the caregivers, Linda, and Porsha Vogt, the owner of Golden Care exhibited such a loving caring attitude to us and made this difficult journey so much easier to manage. For the last week of my mom’s life we had around the clock care for her, and the kindness and sweetness of the many caregivers toward my mom who was basically unconscious was wonderful. We can’t recommend Golden Care enough, and only wished they were in Montana, as they would be the first place we would call if and when we need assistance in our later years.
