When I realized I had got a slab leak I knew there were big decisions to be made. Reroute just the broken pipe, or reroute all the pipes never to have it happen again. Estimates from different plumbing companies of course recommended repiping the whole house, but the estimates they gave me were far too expensive, plus a timeframe of 2-3 days to get it all done. Then my son found Ameri-Cal who gave me an estimate that I accepted without second thought.Their price was much lower than the quote I'd gotten from others (in some cases half of plumber estimates), they would do the repiping in one day, and included patching up all the holes after. After suffering a second pinhole leak in the copper pipes in the walls I realized the only long term solution was to get my house repiped. I contacted several well known (due to TV commercials) contractors in the area and received quotes that I felt were much higher than I anticipated. One contractor didn't even show up for the estimate. I contacted Ameri-Cal and Toby got right back to me. Within a day I had an estimate that I felt was much more in line as to what I thought the project was worth. The reviews here helped give me the confidence to go with Ameri-Cal. I was very pleased with the good service from Ameri-Cal. Toby, the sales guy was super responsive and got me an estimate asap. Because of the cost and complexity of a repipe job, I did my homework and got 7 bids. I was confused on the terminology, inclusions/exclusions in each bid and the $ varied widely. I also looked into epoxy lining as an option, but that was even more expensive and I got one very strange estimate that I felt was almost like elder abuse (I'm almost 70, elders are a protected class...).
