In 2013 and 2014, my mother would hire Homestead to send somebody out to sit with my father who was suffering with Parkinson’s and dementia. He died in December 2014. A few months later, the house was burglarized. The burglars took their time and even used the toilet, which tells me they knew exactly when my mother would be home. I have always suspected that someone at the Home Instead location in Burbank, California was feeding information to these burglars about valuables, where they’re located, best entry point, burglar alarm or not, dogs, etc. What better business for casing properties can there be than this? If I could leave no stars, I would. I stupidly gave them a $1k "deposit" because I was told they get stiffed by customers. I stopped using them in April and have not received my deposit back! After repeated attempts to contact them, I am still waiting!
Case Manager Morgan was compassionate and very responsive and dealt with some complications that arose quickly and efficiently. He followed up reliably to make sure each situation was resolved. Caretakers from Home Instead, particularly Uriel, were kind and skilled working with my 93 year-old mother within an assisted living setting. In addition to making sure her basic needs were met, he provided companionship and made my mother feel listened to and valued. We were all sad to say goodbye to Uriel when mother’s condition made it necessary to move to a board and care facility. I highly recommend Home Instead for elder care.
