This place sucks. Part of me hates leaving a bad review because lord knows we need ER rooms but what a nightmare. Check in people need some empathy training and "security" needs to be more aware. Is it too difficult to figure out that patients with fever and covid symptoms should be in one area? New huge waiting area to pack people in and make them wait hours and hours. They were kind when we went in to be seen but no talking thru next steps or possibilities. Our health system is so badly broken. So difficult to be dealing with what is a snails pace level 1 when you and loved one are at a level 10 crisis and in pain. Hope I never ever have to come back here again. Ill be looking for a new "emergency" room. One that acts more like their title.
This group manages their ER. I went into the ER at St. Josephs with lower stomach pain and concerns I was having an appendicitis. The doctor in triage and the physician assistant who saw me in the ER room never examined me. Never listened to my heart, lungs or even pushed on my stomach. The Physician Assistant told me the first time that I would have all the signs for appendicitis, but she never touched me so how would she even know. Then they have the gaul to send me a large bill to pay for work they NEVER DID! Fraud! Abuse of power. I got my chart to read it and they lied in my chart they examined me. Now they want to get paid for work they did not do! I do not suggest this ER unless St. Joseph's changes takes over their own ER. The hospital itself was phenomenal.
Horrendous fraudulent billing practices!! If you're aware that you're about to receive services from this group, RUN AWAY. They will overbill you, and they will lie. Period. But here's the catch... you probably won't even know you're working with someone from this group until it's too late. We went to Providence's ER and were billed by Providence for ER "facilities" services, then we were billed separately by Burbank Emer Med Group for their "physician" services. Sadly, this is typical and to be expected. But when BEMG bills you or (as they're hoping) your insurance company, they practice "balance billing" (illegal now), but they also "upcoded" the CPT service code (very...read full review
