This review is from my experience as an adult learner, although I have no doubt that one could apply it for students of all ages. Dr. Rosa Lee is a dedicated and accomplished piano teacher for beginner to advanced learners. I have been a remote student in her studio for over a year after completing a Music Fundamentals course that she taught in early 2024 at a community college. I’m comfortable to say that I advanced from an early beginner to a late beginner within that time. Dr. Lee tailors the curriculum to meet your needs. In the past six months, I learned an effective method in memorizing pieces quickly and “pushing through” when playing a piece without interrupting the flow. For this summer, I am focusing on improving my technique and using dynamics effectively at my level as I approach the early intermediate stage. As a bonus, Dr. Lee has a spring recital for all her students, from primary school to retired adults who are both local and remote. I participated in two of the recitals and have been impressed with their quality, particularly with those of the remote younger students. After enjoying their performances, I was inspired to improve my own work. One other note that demonstrates Dr. Lee’s effectiveness in being a piano teacher: many of her remote students were previously local students who chose to remain with her after moving. With my goal of becoming an early advanced piano player, I plan to remain a student in Dr. Lee’s studio for several more years.
I am so happy to have studied piano with Rosa Lee this past summer! I have been studying piano for many years and taken many keyboard classes in college, but Rosa taught me so many important things about piano that I had never been told about before. She has so much valuable knowledge about piano and she is an amazing teacher. After just a few months of studying with her, my skills, technique, and music reading ability improved incredibly! I would highly recommend this studio to anyone who is looking for piano lessons. Rosa is the best!
