I really wish I could provide a higher rating because my makeup and hair turned out great but there are two things that really impacted my rating. For context, I requested hair and makeup for my civil ceremony/elopement, which cost $700 (imo on the higher side of the quotes I received) and took slightly more than 2 hours day of. 1. From my initial reach out to Julie, she wasn't very responsive and often took multiples day or follow-ups from me before I received an answer via email. At some point, I was worried that she wasn't planning on showing up the day of my elopement. 2. The week before I got my hair and makeup done, I was told that I would be working with a different artist. Though the other artist turned out great, I'm a little disappointed that this wasn't communicated upfront. My impression was that Julie would be working with me and not outsourced to someone else. In addition, while the other artist was great, she didn't have all the information that I shared with Julie (eg. That I'm having a civil ceremony, that the location is a home not a hotel, when I needed to be done by) and I had to re-communicate the information to the artist. I'm so glad I communicated proactively to the artist; otherwise I might not have been ready in time to my civil ceremony!

Responsive, friendly, but most of all delivered the hair style I wanted that withstood outdoor weather all day! I'll be going back for my next event! You won't be disappointed!

Julie was AMAZING! :D I was searching for someone who could do my makeup, natural, and not too heavy, for my first business photoshoot for my coaching business, and Julie went above and beyond. It was perfect. When I get married I am definitely reaching out to her again :D Or for any other important occasion! She was so easy to talk to. I didn't really know what to tell her about my makeup style, because I don't usually wear too much. But, she chose the perfect lashes, asked only a few questions, and I looked in the mirror and saw the most beautiful reflection of myself in the most naturally beautiful makeup and hair. So grateful for her talent and quick response time. I was so lucky. Thanks Julie!
