Salon owner Pia Corollo has been cutting my family's hair since she opened in 1976, and the salon in Claremont Avenue still looks the same with the same ferns and track lighting. I probably got my first haircut from Pia when I was seven or eight and 40 years later it's still the same even as my hairstyle has gone through several iterations (I was 18, OK???) including MC Hammer shaved lines in my head and a lookalike of Adam Sandler's Wedding Singer character. (I probably used up all of HQ's supply of mousse one summer in 1989).
