STAY AWAY! Awful service. Frames are overpriced. Owner is arrogant and fails to take responsibility for errors. My $600 glasses/frames have a pink/purple reflection I never chose (SHE did, without telling me!) and the frames slide down my nose no matter what I do. What a waste of money.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE -- In a weak moment, I was lured in off the streets of N. Berkeley and before I knew it I had paid for a pair of overpriced eyeglasses (almost $300). Once I got an eye exam from my doctor, I returned and paid the remainder for a pair of progressive lenses. The owner promised me they'd be back from the lab within a certain timeframe (several weeks). Well...that day came and went. I called -- no answer. I left a msg. No one called me back. I was $600 into my investment, so I was understandably irritated. Plus, I couldn't SEE! FInally I stopped by. "Oh, yes... your glasses are here! I was going to call you!" Whaaaat? No apology, just an arrogance that I cannot tolerate when salespeople fail to take responsibility. AND: The lenses have a horrible pinkish-purple tint! This I discover after I wear them home and notice in the mirror in certain lighting (and my friends tell me about it). It was so awful I return, and the owner says, "Oh this is normal--it is the anti-reflective treatment you requested, I chose this color for you." OMG!! Another thing: The glasses constantly slide down my nose and there is nothing to do about it. These $300 frames are a RIP-OFF! I should have read the reviews. :(

UNPROFESSIONAL As per multiple reviews below, my single star reflects the poor service here (and inflated prices). If I could put no stars I would. The selection is good, but I overpaid for lenses on two frames that both scratched up in no time TWICE. I later saw in reviews that others have had same problem. It was a BIG inconvenience for me, but instead of simply apologizing, the owner first acknowledged her lab couldn't afford to fix its machines during COVID and then subtly insinuated both times this happened because of how I cleaned my glasses. She said I didn't clean my lenses cloth. Really? I've never had this problem with glasses before. Final time I went into the store to get my fixed glasses (which also lost a nose piece) she suggested it was due to a dirty cloth again and told me she'd given me brand new lenses this time, indicating in her tone I should appreciate this. I'd had it. I told her not to keep insinuating I had caused the problem, and she kept defensively pushing back. When I raised my voice she accused me of being unprofessional. So interesting how certain people project their own shortcomings onto others. Sadly, I think this woman means well but does not see her blind spots. Ironic for someone who sells eye glasses.
