Bruce is my musical rock. I love having our lessons as a way to keep myself engaged and consistently making music despite my hectic work schedule. I’ve been going to him for many years, starting with vocal lessons and eventually moving to longer combination vocal/piano sessions. It's been really fulfilling putting the technique I've learned to work, especially at karaoke night. The lessons focus mostly on the foundational aspects of making music like breath, posture, phrasing, and technique, and that approach has helped me grow a lot as a musician.

Bruce is my musical rock. I've been taking lessons with him for many years, starting with voice and later adding piano. His grounded, technique-focused approach has helped me grow tremendously as a musician. It's been incredibly rewarding to put what I've learned into practice, especially at karaoke night. He is certainly not like the instructor from Whiplash LOL. Bruce is also understandably strict with his cancellation policy, which is common for working musicians.
For the past few years, Bruce has tutored this not very gifted pianist to enjoy playing many accessible (his term for less challenging) pieces by Beethoven, Chopin, Bach, Brahms, Debussy, Schubert, and even Rachmaninoff. As a good teacher and coach, he guided me to appreciate that developing musicianship skills includes not only techniques and interpretation but also mastering music theory, good body posture and ergonomics. Under his tutoring I gained a deeper understanding and enjoyment of classical piano music and have made advances in my playing that surpassed my expectation. I look forward each week to my lesson with Bruce.
