I scheduled an appointment for a specific time window, took time off work to be home, and they never showed up. No phone call, no text, nothing. When I called to ask where they were, it went straight to voicemail. Zero communication and zero respect for my time. Save yourself the headache and call someone else.
Very responsive, communicative and efficient owner and team. Upgraded remaining knob and tube, installed new subpanel, included troubleshooting of prior work by others in past 108 years, patched the many holes and addressed all concerns. All in short time period as we needed.
My project involved electrical wiring in an older 4-plex in Oakland to replace existing knob and tube. I asked two companies to give me estimates, which were very close. I chose Berkeley Electric for two reasons: the first was the ease of communication with the owner of the company, Zalman Sher. In the beginning, I was surprised that the owner himself gave me the estimate. In the course of the planning and the work itself, he clearly explained everything that he felt was necessary to do, and we often exchanged emails to answer my questions.
