Here’s the thing: the staff was nice, and the treatment was good. But the waiting times are excruciatingly long. I honestly believe they forgot about me more than once in this little side room (pictured). I had flu-like symptoms. They gave me a blood test, urine test, COVID test, EKG reading, and IV. And it took hours and hours just to tell me I had an unspecified bug. I don’t know if it’s normal or not, but I think there was only one doctor on duty (who apologized) for the Friday overnight shift and they had no beds available when I checked in. If you can, I would try somewhere else before coming here.

I had my baby May 30th 2024 and let me start with saying thank you to all the nurses, Alex a nurse who was pregnant when caring for me and Katelyn caring for me postpartum. I went in for a induction which took almost 2 days for my baby to come since i had a previous caesarean section i was giving up on my VBAC this time around because the pain was unbearable but Alex talked me through it and pushed me to try and have my vaginal birth and so i did. All the nurses were supportive and kept me motivated. Would do it again at Alta Bates ! Give the nurses a raise they deserve it

This place is not designed to receive very sick people. It is cold and a heartless place. There are blaring sounds with doors clanging and walkie talkies going off loudly. The floor and the decor is sterile and uninviting. They take in new patients in clear ear shot with everyone having to listen to the person's medical and personal history.

After waiting to see the doctor we were left waiting for half an hour to be discharged. No one updated us or explained how long the wait would be.
