Just before my Liver Transplant. I expect coldness. Sterility. Machines humming like indifferent gods. But then, from somewhere behind the equipment, a voice calls out: “Would you like me to pray for you?” I am startled. This is not protocol. This is not in the manuals. Hospitals aren’t supposed to do this — especially not here, in the heart of a sterile operating theater. I am unnerved, undone. Prayer in this place? Prayer among scalpels and suction tubes, monitors and masks? And yet… yes. These are not just seasoned professionals. They are wounded healers. Prayer warriors in scrubs. Stepping into the gap between my broken body and the God who alone can heal it. For a moment, I am not a number, not a diagnosis, not a MELD score. I am a soul about to be lifted. And I remember Loma Linda’s Hospital slogan — painted on every wall, printed on every brochure: “To Make Man Whole.” Tonight, that line is not marketing. It is a mission. It is what these strangers in masks are fighting for: my body, my spirit, my survival. The epitome of what I need.

I was just discharged on Friday the 28 admitted on the 21st . I can not tell you how amazing all the staff was from the addmiting down stairs in the ER all the way to the 5th floor . I was in room 521. I met Jose from the ER nurse , Allie who was amazing , Carrie F who did my IV , Catherine , Rebecca , cecilia, Sharon , Hunter ,Shane Mia ,Jeffrey, Nguyen, My general Surgeon she is a boss 🙌😌 and all the providers and attendees. My LVN' and CNA's.The cleaning crew was helpful aswell . hands down I never felt like I had to question their care . I'm a single mother of 4 and having to be admitted in the hospital was a challenge and difficult. but knowing I was getting the best care needed to go back and see my kiddos . that made me way more at peace. I may have obstacles up ahead , but before I head back into my on the run life. I want to make sure I say Thank you to everyone who took care of me on the 5th floor. room 521 . you guys are amazing 👏 🙌
