Gold Country vet is reasonable and they do a great job. No fuss, just get it done kind of people and we love them. They are efficient, affordable and the staff are great, compassionate and kind. Please be sure to give them a big thank you when you see them because they often are not respected by the general public (stressed) They definitely deserve better so thank them the next time you see them.

My forest experience at this vet was a very difficult one. My 14yr old Pom started screaming at 5am and I want to get to the closet vet at 8am. They took me right in and immediately made her comfortable while blood work was complete. Unfortunately she had a serious condition that would have caused her to live a very different life and may experience severe pain. We made the very hard decision to let go peacefully. They handled this procedure with the most care. Allowed me all the time I needed to say goodbye. I now have her ashes for scattering with mine and my husbands ashes.
The could not have been more supportive. Highly recommend them. They are now taking care of our new Shihpoo puppy. Looking forward to the knowledgeable and caring journey with the new baby.

We’ve unfortunately experienced a great deal of veterinary misconduct over the past 10 years in both Placer and El Dorado Counties. One particular clinic in El Dorado Hills still haunts me with how casually they prioritized profit over compassion—draining our finances while my beloved cat lay dying on their exam table.
Gold Country Veterinary Hospital is the complete opposite. I’ve never before encountered veterinary care where the doctors consistently place the wellbeing of both our pets and our family above profiteering. They respect our financial limitations without judgment, and they never make us feel like second-class clients because of them.
On top of that, their bedside manner is exceptional. I freely admit that I can be a bit of a wreck when one of my “babies” isn’t well, yet every time, my panic is met with patience, kindness, and genuine care.
I’m deeply grateful to have finally found physicians who understand that financial constraints don’t mean an owner loves their animals any less. Thank you, GCVH, for taking such wonderful care of Slinky, Yoda, and Rocky.

The staff is beyond amazing and and accommodating. We take all our animals here and unfortunately My mom sadly had to put our 12 year old family cat down…the staff was so kind and sincere during the whole process and really helped my mom get through the difficult moment. And about a week after, my mom received a personalized, handwritten card from the whole staff which was so thoughtful and appreciated. I will continue to recommend them to all.
