Wondering Blond is such a gem. I’ve been going there for years, and it’s one of those places that makes you feel good the second you walk in. The salon has amazing style, a welcoming atmosphere, and always feels elevated without being pretentious.
It truly feels like big-city hair in a small town, which is hard to find. The quality is fantastic, the prices are fair, and the whole experience is always enjoyable — from the vibe to the conversation to walking out loving your hair. If you’re looking for a salon that delivers beautiful results in a relaxed, stylish setting, Wondering Blond is absolutely worth it.

This review is LONG overdue! I have had two great experiences with Sarah who has done two differnt updo's and blowouts for events I have had to be glam for. She knows exactly the right style for the event and does an exceptional job in her craft. Her salon is beautiful and she is a wonderful supported of the community. I will choose Wandering Blonde everytime I need to feel amazing!

I recently went in for hair color with Lupita, and unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. About a week later, after blow-drying my hair, I noticed the color on one side was noticeably different from the other. I reached out to her, and although she said she would fix it, she later tried to change the appointment date—even though I had already taken the day off work. On top of that, she arrived an hour late.
This isn’t the first time I’ve had to go back for a color correction with her. She often seems rushed, and she frequently calls or texts while applying bleach, which makes me uncomfortable—especially considering the amount I’m paying. Despite the repeated mistakes, she still charges a high price and doesn’t offer any discount for the inconvenience or correction. In the end, she even suggested I should go elsewhere to get my hair done.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend getting hair color services with her.

I’ve been going to Sarah for 8 years and if you meet her you’ll know why! Her skills match her personality - simply the best! I also go to Cathleen for lashes and come out looking fresh every time! Cathleen is a perfectionist and I adore her. The salon is beautiful, so much natural light and good vibes. The location is great if you live in North County!

Sarah has been making my hair beautiful for a few years now! I get so many compliments on the color and style and it’s all because Sarah is amazing at what she does.

I love this Salon for it's beautiful, comfortable, and happy environment. Alyx is my hair stylist and she is the best! I have fine hair that she is somehow able to bring shape and style to my medium short haircut. I highly recommend this salon!

This salon is located downtown in La Plaza. Parking is available both out front on the street and behind the building. Walking in you get the vibe that this is a sophisticated, upscale, yet totally cozy and down-to Earth place to have your services performed. They have wonderful hair stylists (I see Alyx, and cannot say enough amazing things about her work!), a nail technician on certain days of the week and an esthetician whose work I have not yet had the opportunity to experience but follow her on IG and her work looks fabulous. I would highly recommend others to check out this wonderful new addition to downtown Atascadero!
