Beware before booking appointment! If you just want a new pair of glasses and the doctor, not you, brings up a medical issue, they bill your insurance as a medical appointment, not a optical visit, which for many of us on a Medicare Advantage plan, goes toward a deductible rather than being covered as preventive care. Every other eye care center bills an eyeglass appointment as preventive and it’s covered. Also they do not accept insurance for glasses, so their website is very deceptive. I’ll never go to this place again!
I had an annual eye exam 30 days ago, VSP covered with 20$ co pay.
Dr. Wanted a “follow up” to see if eye drops added moisture to eyes.
30 days later went back for my “follow up.”
Co pay was 75 $ and charged as “ medical” to my primary insurance.
What a scam, nothing done 30 days later was different than eye exam, but they used the situation to bill my medical without notifying me?
Yes, I won’t be continuing services here.
I had an older pair of frames and recently switched out the lenses with an updated prescription. 2 weeks later, I snapped the temple of my frames in half. They kindly fixed it at no charge and did a great job of shrink wrapping the band. Hopefully it holds, but they were kind enough to do this for me. Thank you Primary Eye Center.
