What really set Plant Baybe apart from other plant shops for me were the practical plant items that were available like clear plastic pots, grow lights and soil mixes. There were also a myriad of little anthurium sprouts that were attractively priced and super healthy. The shop also had a wide array of plants from boggy little wonders like pinguicula to low water beauties like bantel sensation snake plants to easy growers like pothos to giant rarities.

The absolute best plant and gift shop in town! My husband and I have been shopping here for years. Great gifts and the friendliest staff! The owner and her husband are such a joy, and I'm thankful this small business is in Alameda!

Made an appointment for a permanent jewelry anklet. I've been looking at places around the area, and I've only seen a few either at Castro Valley or in SF, but luckily I was on the alameda peeps Facebook page and saw a post about permanent jewelry services offered in my own town! When I arrived inside the store, it was cutely decorated with plants for purchase spread out all around. I met Rose at the front back of the store and she explained of how the process work, and the different kinds of chains that were offered. I picked the gold one since she informed me that it was one that lasted longer than the sterling silver and the rose gold one. I also decided to pick out a moon charm which was $10 extra. I also signed a consent form since she was welding it, a bright light would take place and I can have the option to wear sunglasses or look away when she was doing it. After taking my measurement, she cut a piece of the chain and I tried it on my ankle along with the chain. I took a few steps to see if it fit alright with me. Then she placed a divider cloth under the area where she was going to weld, and it literally took less than a minute for her to do it. It happened so quickly, and overall appointment took probably 20 minutes total. Rose was really sweet, and informative as well when answering questions. She also gave me a cloth for cleaning my anklet. I'll definitely be back when I'm needing some new plants for my place, or when I'm needing a new piece of permanent jewelry. Thank you so much, Rose!
