I have seen them for various reasons such as injuries, sore muscles, or relaxation and stress relief. I have therefore become quite adept at differentiating between the good, the bad and the ugly! This was my first experience with Fusiion Wellness. I made the appointment because of soreness in my shoulder and calf muscles that was not being relieved by painkillers.. My massage therapist was Veronica, who according to the company website has been practicing Tuina Massage, traditional Thai massage and a unique type of massage from South Korea since 2008. It states her mother was a massage therapist for 30 years so I knew she had the genes and background necessary to be the master of her craft.I never have high expectations when I have a massage with someone who is new to me. I know from experience that it takes a number of sessions for therapist and client become familiar with one another to get the most benefit. You have a choice between a Thai deep tissue oil massage, a traditional Thai massage or a combination of the two. I chose the oil massage.From the beginning of the massage I was super impressed that Veronica knew exactly what massage techniques to use to start easing the soreness. impressed me was that Veronica knew exactly where, and what massage techniques to use to start easing the the muscle soreness. And she also did a great job massaging out the tension in other parts of my body that I had no idea that they were tense. But what impressed me the most were her attitude and dedication towards what she was doing. It was clear she was totally focussed on meeting my needs the entire time we were together. I could tell that her mind never wondered off to other things like what she would be dating for dinner!was clear she was totally focused on me and my needs throughout the massage and was not thinking about what she would have for dinner! Once the massage was underway the only time she spoke was when she asked in a soft gentle voice periodically to check if I was comfortable and that she was applying the right level of pressure. I told her the greater the pressure the better and boy, in spite of her small frame, did she ever deliver! But overall impression was one of a person with a very gentle soul.Overall, I have found that what differentiates great massage therapists from average one is not particularly their educational backgrounds, but their experience and most importantly their dedication to their art form while putting the comfort and well-being above all else. Those qualities were exhibited by Veronica from the moment I arrived to the time I left. And that is why I receivednone of the best, if not the best, massage I have received. It was certainly the best for a first time meeting.Veronica wore a protective mask throughout, which I appreciated. But during a recent hospital stay I found myself becoming uncomfortable with various health care professionals coming in my room and prodding and poking here and there and I had no idea who they were, whether or not I had met them before and so on. So I decided that in future that I wanted to know who the person was who wastouching me. As I was about to leave I asked Veronica to lower her mask for a moment. She understandably hesitated for a moment and looked a little puzzled but when I explained why I had asked, she readily pulled it down and a beautiful genuine smile was revealed. I said to her that it was good to know who she was and who I was dealing with so I could be more comfortable when we get met.I have already booked our next appointment on line but this time it would be 90 minutes and not 60 like last time. I am really looking forward to it.“
