I had Reid Brothers come for a maintenance service after 3 years. I should point out that I have been using them since 2005 if not before, and have not had any complaints about their work. The bill was $281: Full service and inspection: $184; Travel $89; filter $14.76 and taxes. At the time I had received a brochure from another company offering a "special" at $150. but I prefer "the devil I know." This charge for "travel time" is a gimmick that all companies [at least the ones I have dealt with] all have. I would have thought it was the cost of doing business. I had a tricky diagnostic problem (two different malfunctions simultaneously manifesting in the thermostat, circuit board, condenser pump - that took three visits to diagnose and fix. The service personnel were pleasant, well mannered, and knowledgeable, attacked the problem in a logical and thorough fashion, fixed it, and kept me in the loop.
Reid Brothers were prompt and professional. Called them on Saturday early afternoon, they had a technician respond with a home visit in 1 hour. Diagnosed the problem and a new hot water tank was installed on Tuesday. Extremely happy with the service!
