The clinic, its services, and staff have such a strong understanding of chronic pain management, and the challenges that are unique to Individual patient care. I love the variety of GMV’s -virtual sessions on physical health (exercise, relaxation, and training) as well as sleep health, and other pain management sessions that are led by experts most of whom have experience, and a deeper understanding of chronic pain, fatigue, and illnesses. They provide genuine care, and support where we gain knowledge that we need in our individual pain journeys to better understand our body systems, and personal management of symptoms and flares. The techniques to develop strength, and training is adaptable, and they always care to provide alternatives to our individual levels for safe movement, that increases in difficulty for long term work in improving function, and mobility. I am so very grateful, and happy for the clinical treatments, and sessions that are MSP covered, giving someone with chronic lifetime illness the long term non-medicated alternatives, and support we need to not only manage our chronic pain but actually reduce it! Personally my Fibromyalgia symptoms, peripheral neuropathy, and lower disc pain & flares have greatly reduced since joining the Change pain programs. In less than 6 months, I have a better understanding of my overwhelming multitude of pain symptoms that was a huge challenge in the past 6 years for me with no reprieve, or support until now. I have finally found the place I needed for me to gain, plus I am continuing to gain great tools, and support to overcome, and live a more capable, functional, healthier, happier life. My Pain, and management has become less of a burden, and stress. My relationship with my body, and pain is now more positive, and I actually feel more motivated, and able to continue my life with pain & flares just being a piece of the pie that is my life! Pain is no longer the dark, looming elephant in my life! Thank you so much Dr. Lau to the entire team!
I was referred to this clinic for my chronic pain condition - Myofascial Pain Syndrome which is a muscle and soft tissue issues with my muscles spasms causing extreme pain along with my chronic Aschemic Colitis condition that puts me in hospital several times a year. they gave me a full work up that identified nutrient deficiencies and they into turn referred me to a metabolic team and started doing Trigger point injections that released the muscles. I was on my way to recovery and was in a MVA which set me back quite a bit and it was my Pain Dr that identified the extent of my MVA injuries and advised me to file a ICBC claim as he was familiar with where my issues were pre MVA and how much damage had been done. Now I am no longer working on the chronic pain issues that we started with we are addressing the MVA damage with referrals for urgent CT scan TPI and various other treatments including Pain Coaching and Physio and Nerve block. I am deeply grateful for their expertise.
