About Fort St. John Women's Resource Society
The Fort St. John Women's Resource Society offers essential support to low and no-income individuals in the community, including women, men, children, 2SLGBTQI+ individuals, Indigenous people, and immigrants. It provides a welcoming environment with resources such as clothing, food, and assistance for those in need. The staff are helpful, energetic, and non-judgmental, dedicated to serving everyone regardless of background. The organization also houses key staff members like the Executive Director, Family Law Advocate, and others to support clients. While the society is a valuable resource and opens its doors to men once a week, some concerns about safety and recent disruptions have been noted, highlighting the need for a safe space for all who seek help.
I am very grateful for the tax clinic that you hold and the people who volunteer their time for this. I think that if a person was getting something back from the government, they wouldn't mind so much paying a few dollars to have it done, but it's a catch 22. In order to receive old age pension, GIS, CPP, or anything else, you have to apply each year. The thing with that is you can't apply unless you've done your taxes and most places that do them charge some pretty high fees. So yes, thank you very much for your kindness. If I knew how to do them, I'd come down and volunteer myself. :)
Staff are amazing helpful and always energetic and enthusiastic non judgemental and helpful with many resources there clothing food store could use more donations for people who are in need
A little gem that has resources for those who need a little help to get by. The staff is wonderful and helpful in many ways. The place not only serves women but they open its doors once a week to men to access the services.
