Sunrise Records is an independently owned, leading Canadian retailer of music, film, games, and pop culture items. Founded in 1977 and based in Ancaster, Ontario, Sunrise offers a wide selection of new release and catalogue product in 84 locations across Canada (and growing). Customers praise the well-organized and tidy stores, which make finding products more enjoyable. The helpful and knowledgeable staff create a friendly environment, leading one customer to consider the store their "second home." While the inventory may not always be complete, most customers are able to find what they're looking for.
I've been coming here for years now and I can say that it has improved more and more as time goes on.
The Kpop selection is growing, and I notice a lot more obscure and local releases popping up amongst the CDs. I found some Vancouver Punk and Metal stuff tucked inbetween some more popular releases.
If you want to find some surprises, check out the used or clearance shelves.
Staff members are very friendly and have great taste in music.
You can easily find gifts here too for any last minute holiday shopping.
I've purchased some of my favourite records here and I hope to get more. Keep being awesome 💜
Considering there are multiple Sunrise locations in the lower mainland, our family visits the Coquitlam location a few times a week because the staff is wonderful at this location.
When my daughter became interested in vinyl, the staff at sunrise embraced our questions with zero judgement and have assisted my family with all of our questions about all types of media and genres.
I am incredibly grateful for meeting the staff at this location and their advice.
